Bill Ford is the founder of HomemadeEnergy.org, and he seems to know the business of renewable energy very well. On the wewbsite he cites many relevant statistics, such as the percentage of US energy requirements that come from all known sources. Surprisingly, renewable energy only accounts for 0.2% (0.1% for wind power and 0.1% for solar power). His main point seems to be that most people don’t know about the benefits, nor realise how easy it is to do it.
And it’s hard to dispute that fact, especially now that conserving energy is of paramount importance.

The HomemadeEnergy guide covers both home wind power, and home solar power generating systems.  It’s a very impressive presentation, and he has some solid testimonials to back up his claims.
